Father of Lamine Yamal ‘stabbed multiple times’

Mounir Nasraoui rushed to hospital after being attacked in a ‘settling of scores’, according to report

The father of Spanish footballer Lamine Yamal has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed in a car park fight in Spain, according to reports.
Mounir Nasraoui suffered multiple knife wounds in the Catalonia town of Mataro on Wednesday – but his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
Spanish news outlets La Vanguardia and Marca report the “prognosis is serious” but that his life is not in danger.
Mr Nasraoui is believed to be receiving treatment in Badalona for “more than one stab wound”.
An investigation has now been opened and witnesses who watched the stabbing unfold have reportedly been approached by local police in Mataro.
It was reported that three suspects have been arrested in connection with the stabbing and police are tracking down a fourth.
“Everything points to a settling of scores” after a previous fight, Marca reports.
Mr Nasraoui is his son’s biggest supporter and was present as 17-year-old Yamal lifted the European Championship title after victory over England.
Yamal was Spain’s player of the tournament, with his father previously declaring that the rising superstar could “be greater than [Lionel] Messi”.
Yamal – the standout young player at Euro 2024 –  often makes a gesture with his hands that expresses the number 304, which are the last digits of the postal number of his neighbourhood, Rocafonda, in Mataro.
The player was born in Esplugas de Llobregat, but grew up in the district where his father lives.
At just 15, Yamal made his debut for Barcelona in La Liga, becoming the Catalan giants’ youngest player this century. He is also Spain’s youngest ever goalscorer, and the youngest player to play at the Euros in the 64-year history of the competition.
